Dennie Earl Sargent, 93, of Gratis Township, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Menifee County, Kentucky on June 20, 1914 to parents Andy Jackson and Vina (Osborne) Sargent.
Dennie was a farmer and had worked for P. Lorilard in Middletown, Frigidaire in Dayton, and was the owner-operator of a trucking company, retiring in 1980. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army, serving during World War II, and was a member of American Legion Post 218. He was also a member of Yankee Road First Church of God.
Mr. Sargent is survived by his wife of 47 years, Beulah (Sizemore) Sargent; three daughters, Aleta (Orville) Weaver, Dorothy Stewart, and Patricia (James) Limerick; a son, Andrew (Shari) Sargent; and numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Begley in 2003; parents; brothers, George Sargent & Estil Sargent; and sisters, Elizabeth, Willa, Bertha, Alma, Silvia, & Crissie.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 2:00 PM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Reverend Rodney Williams officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 pm. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
