Dewey Burkhart, 74, a long time resident of Middletown, died Saturday December 24, 2005 at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born May 26, 1931 in Cannel City, Kentucky to parents Holbert and Irene (Williams) Burkhart.
Mr. Burkhart was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Miamisburg, he was an Army Veteran serving in Korea, he was a truck driver for Middletown Sand and Gravel, he was a member of the American Legion Post 218, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with friends, and he loved to spoil his grandchildren.
Dewey is survived by his wife Charlesetta (Miller) Burkhart, daughters Tina (Jamie) Watkins of Middletown, Laura Highley of Middletown, and Lisa Fisch of Dayton, sisters; Opal (Mike) Lynch of Indiana, Sue Collier of Indiana, Kathleen Hoskins of Fairborn, and Yvonne Rose of Florida, eight grandchildren, Miranda, Jeff, Justin, Stephen, Hayley, Jenna, Brandi, and Charles, along with many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father John Vance, sisters Molly Couch, Reva Denton, Betty Freeze, Juanita Moore, and Marie Carson.
Funeral services will be Thursday December 29, 2005 at 1:00PM at the Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) with Rev. Frank Kelly. Visitation will be Wednesday December 28, 2005 from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors by American Legion Post 218.
