Dixie Cantrell

Dixie Cantrell, 93, of Middletown, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Liberty of Middletown. She was born in Jenkins, Kentucky on April 3, 1920 to parents Columbus and Polly (Mullins) Phipps.

Mrs. Cantrell is survived by her daughters, Doris E. (Ray) Phillips & Carol (Hubert "Bob") Sloan; five grandchildren, Kim (John) Borders, Angela (Joe) Gay, Lainie (Jay) Saurbeck, Kelly (Josh) Carberry & Dayla Sloan; and ten great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cantrell in 1991; son, Ronnie Gene Cantrell in 2006; parents; several brothers & sisters; and granddaughter, Sarah Borders.

The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Liberty Retirement Community and Crossroads Hospice for the good care of our Mom. Also all those who passed by Mom's room and gave a wave or said hi to her.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 10:30 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 9:30 - 10:30 AM. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
