Dixie Leah Harrison, daughter of the late Carl & Emma (Center) Byrd, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016, at the age of 82, at home surrounded by love.
She was born December 6, 1933 in Campton, Kentucky and in 1953 married James Allen Harrison, who passed after 51 years of marriage.
Mrs. Harrison is survived by her three children, Deborah Habig Harrison, Robin Harrison Naber & Brian Harrison; four grandchildren, Becca Naber, Leah Harrison, Emily Naber & Alex Harrison; also three step grandchildren, Rhonda Hudson, Tina Koblenz & Jamie Harrison; three sisters, Darleen (Bill) Wright, Mabel Williams & Phyllis (Paul) Little; & many nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was preceded in death by her step son, Larry Harrison; sisters, Jewell Gifford & Justine Brewer; and four brothers, Bruce Byrd, I.B. Byrd, Brave Byrd & Henry Byrd.
Dixie lived her life devoted to her family and friends and showed that love through cooking and actively participating in her children's and grandchildren's activities.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Gaeke and her staff, the wonderful staff at the Compton Center Infusion Center and to all of Hospice Care of Middletown.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
