Donald F. Steere

Donald F. Steere, 78, of Middletown, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on July 25, 1928 to Frank and Elizabeth (Dumas) Steere.

Don was owner & operator of West Penn Window in Washington, PA and Miami Valley Window and Awning Company in Middletown. He attended Middletown High School and St. Michael´s School in Wheeling, W.Va. Don enjoyed playing golf and bridge. He golfed in many tournaments and was a scratch player and he held a Master´s Card in bridge. He was a member of Holy Family Parish - St. John´s Church and Middletown Rotary Club.

Donald is survived by, his wife, Rose-Marie (Piedel) Steere of Middletown; three daughters, Donna Jean (Marc) Lamberaux of West Hartford, CT, Kathleen DiMartino of East Windsor, CT, and Linda (John) Shields of Washington, PA; two sons, David (Kay) Steere of Denver, CO, and Donald (Adele) Steere II of Washington, PA; a sister, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Ferman) Carr; seven brothers, William (Fran) Steere, Harold Steere, Paul (Gerry) Steere, John (Annette) Steere, Frank (Faith) Steere, Harry (Karen) Himrod, and Steve Himrod; eight grandchildren, Gareth White, Sarah White, Jason (Katrin) Green, Caleb Green, Evelyn (Robert) Martin, Amanda (Greg) Hartzell, Rob (Shannon) Steere, and Ryan Steere; six great grandchildren, Joshua & Alexander Green, Alexis & Nathan Martin, Dakota Hartzell, and Jack Steere; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Steere.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 5, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday, January 4, 2007 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
