Donald R. “Don” Kerrigan, 74, of Middletown, died on March 11, 2005, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Piqua, Ohio on June 13, 1930 to parents John L. and Oneda (Weaver) Kerrigan.
Don served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Armco Steel Corp. for 32 years, retiring as a supervisor in the tubing plant in 1987. Mr. Kerrigan was a member of Holy Family Parish / Holy Trinity Church, American Legion Post #218, V.F.W. Post #4874 in Piqua and past member of Piqua Rangers Drill Team. Don aslo played Santa for 43 years in and around the community.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce C. (Sparks) Kerrigan; four daughters: Rebecca M (Christopher) Recchione of Wilmington, Delaware, Robin M. (Terry) Lawson of Middletown, Pandora M. (Michael) McCarty of Clarksville, Ohio and Joanna C. (Jeffrey) Thompson of Onsted, Michigan; two sons: Patrick M. (Sallie) Kerrigan of Cincinnati and Donald R. Kerrigan, Jr. of Middletown; five sisters: Doris Green of West Chester, Janet Fox of Troy, Patsy Elliott of Sidney, Ohio, Rosalie Foster and Maxine Stump of Piqua; Three grandsons Shawn Michael Kerrigan, Nickolas Patrick Kerrigan and Christopher Michael Recchione IV.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, John Kerrigan, Jr., William, Paul, and Thomas Kerrigan, and three sisters, Evelyn Kerrigan, Norma Jean Lindsay and Mary Lou Curl.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday March 15, 2005 at Holy Family Parish-Holy Trinity Church at 10 AM with Fr. John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Monday March 14 from 5-8 pm at Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.). Interment will be at Miami Memorial Park in Covington, Ohio.
