Donald L. Schwab, 69, of Middletown, died Thursday, August 3, 2017, at home. He was born in Middletown on January 2, 1948 to parents John & Rose (Rossi) Schwab.
Don retired from AK Steel in 2006 after 43 years as a Rigger. He was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School. Don served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, receiving his honorable discharge and he was a member of the American Legion Post 218. He was also a member of Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, where he served as an usher for many years.
Fuzzy, as he was affectionately called by his family, is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sharion (Howard) Schwab; son, Donald (Lori) Schwab; and grandson, Benjamin Schwab. He is also survived by his brothers, John (Carlyne) Schwab, Thomas (Patricia) Schwab, William (Jean) Schwab & Frederick (Laura) Schwab; sisters, Patricia (Tom) Adams & Beverly (Dan) Combs; and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael Schwab & Robert Schwab; and sister, Shirley Schwab.
Don was loved and respected by all that knew him and he loved spending time with his grandson and family. Special thanks to Fidelity, Grace Hospice, and the Compton Center.
Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Father John Civille officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
