Donald R. Lykins

Donald R. "Donnie" Lykins, 71, of Franklin Township, died Thursday, September 22, 2011, at his residence. He was born in Middletown on November 23, 1939 to parents Rector and Bethel (Highly) Lykins.

Donnie worked in the BOF department at Armco Steel Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Lykins is survived by his wife, Velma (Martin) Lykins; two sons, Donnie (June) Lykins Jr. & Robbie (Tammy) Lykins; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristy Robinson in 2000; parents; brothers, Winston Lykins, Timmy Lykins & Millard Lykins; and sisters, Jeanie Knapp & Dixie Lee Buchanan.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Robertson & staff and Dr. Gunasakera & staff and to the Hospice of Dayton staff especially nurses Jenny, Amanda & Sherry.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 26, 2011 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
