Donald W. Fiessinger, 84, a lifelong resident of Middletown, died Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Hawthorn Glen Nursing Center. He was born in Middletown, on April 30, 1931 to parents A. Wendolin and Lena (Hamlin) Fiessinger.
Don served his country in the United State Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was the co-owner of Wendy's Service with his younger brother Richard. Later in life, his love of cars led him to a second career working for Stricker Automotive. Don was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a long time member of the Middletown Sportsman's Club. He was also a golfer with two hole-in-ones to his credit. He was a member of Holy Family Parish.
Mr. Fiessinger is survived by his son, David (Barbara) Fiessinger of Middletown; daughter, Dona (Robert) Krall of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Richard Fiessinger of Middletown; sisters, Dorothy Lawson of Middletown and Margaret Segal of Vero Beach, FL; and grandchildren, Amy Fiessinger of Denver, CO, Kate (Matt) Clark of Cincinnati and Lori Fiessinger of Minneapolis, MN.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years and high school sweetheart, Jo Ann (Cannoy) Fiessinger 8 months ago; son, Michael A. Fiessinger; parents; and brother, David Fiessinger.
Memorial Mass will be held Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at church.
