Dorothy Lease Hidy

Dorothy Hidy, 99, of Middletown, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on June 28, 1906 to parents Robert Bailey and Marie (Wilson) Lease.

Dorothy worked as a realtor for Finkleman Realty and worked for Village East. She was a longtime member of the Church of the Ascension, member of Eastern Star, and past president of the Federated Women’s Club.

Mrs. Hidy is survived by her daughter, Heather Hidy of Los Angeles, CA; son, W. Lee Hidy of Camillus, NY; nine grandchildren, Eric Lawson, Paul Lawson, Dr. Dawn Lawson, Eve Lawson Hopkins, Dr. Tina Waitzman, Dr. Janine Waitzman, Henry Hidy, Lynn Hidy, and Brian Hidy; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Hidy in 1972; son, Wayne Hidy; daughter, Faith Waitzman; her parents; and brother, Kenneth Bailey Lease.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held Friday, March 31, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Woodside Cemetery (section 19) with Reverend Clyde Martin officiating. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service & celebration of her life will be held June 28th at the Church of the Ascension, with the time to be announced later.
