Dorothy Sawyer

Dorothy Sawyer, 71, of Middletown, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Middletown on February 5, 1941 to parents Steven and Mary (Sigecan) Piedel.

Mrs. Sawyer was a member of Holy Family Parish.

Mrs. Sawyer is survived by her sons, Ted Sawyer and Tommy (Toni) Sawyer; daughter, Crystal (James) Prater; brothers, Larry (Lucy) Piedel and John Piedel; sisters, Rose Marie Steere and Barbara South and grandchildren, Karina, Tommy, Avery, Savannah, James & Justice; step grandchildren, Brittany & Olivia.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Gene T. Sawyer (2006); sister, Martha Day and brother James Piedel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 23, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
