POTTEBAUM Dorothy Anne Verdin, of Middletown, passed peacefully away January 9, 2007, at AngelsGrace Hospice, Oconomowoc, WI, surrounded by loving family members. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father Roman John Verdin, mother Rose Frances (Kenney) Verdin, brother Roman John (Jack) Verdin, two grandsons Byron David Leigh and Robert Siegrist Mandish, and husband Raymond Joseph Pottebaum. An active member of Holy Family Parish, Middletown, Dorothy enjoyed singing in the choir and also served her community in many ways as a volunteer. She was past president of Church Women United, an avid bridge player, and enjoyed golf, reading, flower-arranging and bowling. Dorothy was a loving wife, proud mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was born in Cincinnati, OH, January 11, 1922 and was a graduate of Regina High School in Cincinnati, and The College of Mount St. Joseph on the Ohio. Married in 1944, Dorothy and Ray were blessed with five children, Joseph (wife Sherry) of Brookfield, WI, John (wife Cathy) of Eden Prairie, MN, Nancy (husband Craig) Mandish of Chapin, SC, Linda (husband David Michael) Leigh of Englewood, CO, and Mark (wife Insun) of Sierra Vista, AZ; grandchildren Pamela Pottebaum (husband Trevor) Stiles, Nicholas Pottebaum, Andrew Pottebaum, Michael Pottebaum, Bruce Mandish, Brian Mandish, Barry Mandish, Benjamin Mandish, Anne Leigh, Peter Leigh, William Leigh, Raymond Pottebaum and Ian Pottebaum. Visitation will be Friday, January 19 from 5-8pm at Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home, Middletown, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Saturday, January 20th at Holy Family Parish-Holy Trinity Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to AngelsGrace Hospice, W359 N7430 Brown Street, County Hwy. P, Oconomowoc, WI 53066, or a charity of one’s choice.
