Doug Gene Whitaker

Douglas G. "Bucky" Whitaker, 76, of Franklin, died Sunday, December 19, 2010, at his residence. He was born in Monroe on March 21, 1934 to parents Ralph and Loma (Phelps) Whitaker.

Doug worked as a manager of computer science for the Miami Conservancy District. He served his country in the United States Navy.

Mr. Whitaker is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Campbell) Whitaker; four children, Doug (Dierdre) Whitaker, Dean (Svetlana) Whitaker, Melanie (Ernie) Morgan & James Whitaker; brother, Ben Fletcher; sisters, Mary Louise Guthrie & Barbara Steins; 10 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and many other loving family & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Whitaker.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 11:00 am at St. Luke United Presbyterian Church, 280 N. Breiel Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Janet Dillaman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at church. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
