Dr. Charles Howard Buchert

Dr. Charles Howard Buchert passed away on July 20, 2010. Dr. Buchert was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 19, 1918. Until age 10, he was raised in Newport, Kentucky. The family moved to Cincinnati in 1928. He was educated in the Cincinnati school system. He was a graduate of Withrow High School and the College of Medicine of the University of Cincinnati in 1943. His post-graduation training in Pediatrics was at The Christ Hospital and Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Dr. Buchert served in the Medical Corp of the Army of the United States until April of 1947 when he came to Middletown and entered into the private practice of pediatrics with Dr. John R. Perkins. Theirs was the first medical partnership in Middletown. Later Dr. Marion Swisher entered the partnership and the present day Children's Medical Center was formed.
Dr. Buchert was a member of the Middletown Hospital Medical Staff, and the Butler County, Ohio State and American Medical Associations. He served on various associations and societies dealing with health and allied subjects in both the city of Middletown and Butler County. He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, Alpha Omega Alpha honorary medical society and The American Academy of Pediatrics. He was a long time member of the Church of The Ascension and a charter member of Brown's Run Country Club.

Dr. Buchert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia Montgomery Buchert, his sons Thomas (Chris) Buchert of Middletown, John (Helen) Buchert of Cincinnati and his daughter Anne Elizabeth Hawkins of Middletown. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren Julie (Mike) Steel, Katie (Patrick) Kennedy, Jill (Jake) Gilman, Charlie (Laura) Buchert, Joe (Kelly) Buchert, Tommy (Christy) Hawkins, Andy (Amy) Hawkins, and Tim (Angela) Hawkins His great-grandchildren are Elaine, Jack, Henry, Nicholas, Vaughan, Royce, Allison, Reagan, Jordan, and Dylan.

As the family has already said their goodbyes, there will be no services or visitation.
