Dr. Enrique Pantoja, 82, of Middletown, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Miami Valley Hospital South. He was born in Morovis, Puerto Rico on October 15, 1932 to parents Enrique and Inocencia (Marrero) Pantoja.
Enrique earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico. He served in the United States Army, served as a Colonel in the United States Air Force, and he was Chairman of the Radiology Department at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Later, he was a Professor of Radiological Sciences at Wright State University where in 1986 he received the Medallion for Teaching Excellence.
Mr. Pantoja is survived by his wife, Carmen (Nieves) Pantoja; daughter, Jasmin (John) Ratliff; sons, Enrique Pantoja & Ben (Christine) Pantoja; brother, Felipe Pantoja; sister, Carmen Belen Pantoja; and grandchildren, Mackenzie Calen, Spencer Dylan, Giovanni Ariel, Michael Alexander, Emily Jessamine & Jonathan Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wenceslao Pantoja.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
