Dr. Herbert M. Calem

Dr. Herbert M. Calem, 81, of Middletown, died Monday, August 15, 2016. He was born in the Bronx, New York on November 3, 1934 to parents Louis and Sarah (Goldstein) Calem.

Herbert retired as a Lt. Colonel from the United States Air Force after serving over 20 years. After retiring from the military he continued to serve as a dentist for 24 more years. He was also an assistant scuba diving instructor. Herbert enjoyed music, dancing, traveling and growing and working with plants and flowers.

Dr. Calem is survived by his wife, Tina (Johnson) Calem; family, William (Ginger) Calem, Lisa Calem-Lindstrom, Danan (Richard) Spielman, Brandon W. Stansberry & Brett T. Stansberry; and nine grandchildren, Greyson, Duncan, Delaney, Kramer, Korben, Erik, Kaitlynn, Ashleigh & Hailey.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Sydney Calem & Jesse Calem.

Private services will be held by the family.
