Earl E. Adkins, 90, of Middletown, died Saturday May 28, 2005 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born July 8, 1914 in Dunlow West Virginia to parents Golden and Dollie (Smith) Adkins.
Earl was an Army Veteran, an Armco retiree; he was passionate about gardening, church and his family.
Earl is survived by his wife Florine Phillips Adkins whom he married December 22, 1950, a daughter Jane (James) Morgan of Livingston, TX, three sons Wes Adkins of Ft. Myers, FL, Steve (Janet Perkins) Adkins of Tipp City, Dale (Lisa) Adkins of Springboro, 9 Grandchildren: Aaron, J.R., Steven (Jenny) Jr., Heather, Rebekah, and Derrick Adkins, Lori and Jonathon Mathis, Jeremiah Banks, 4 great-grandchildren, three brothers Raymond (Delphia) Adkins of Springfield, Herman Adkins of Jamestown, and James (Gerry) Adkins of Middletown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earnest, Bernie, Glenn, Gordon, and Hobert Adkins, and a sister Marie Adkins and former son-in-law Carel “EL” Mathis.
Funeral services will be Thursday June 2, 2005 at 11AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. Visitation will be Wednesday June 1, 2005 from 6-8 PM at the funeral Home.
Entombment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
