Earl Frisby, 81, of Middletown, passed away Sunday morning, July 4, 2004. The son of Lee and Carrie (Peck) Frisby, Mr. Frisby was born on June 2, 1923. Originally from Menifee County, Kentucky, he moved to Middletown in 1941. He was employed by Armco Steel in Inspection/Quality Control and retired after 40 years of service.
Previously, Mr. Frisby attended the Church at Mayfield for over 25 years and was presently a member of the Breiel Boulevard Church of God, where he just completed 20 years in the tape ministry. Mr. Frisby enjoyed traveling, gardening, and woodworking, but his passion was carving. He was a long-standing member of the Miami Valley Woodcarvers’ Association and won several ribbons for his carvings.
Mr. Frisby was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Smallwood, as well as two brothers, Wilbur and Raymond.
Mr. Frisby’s survivors include his wife of over 51 years, Ann (Potter) Frisby; two sons, Steve of Evendale, Ohio, and Dan, of O’Fallon, Illinois; two grandchildren, Samantha and Andrew; a sister Ruth (Frisby) Knopp, of Englewood, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown. The funeral will be Thursday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Services will be officiated by Pastor Eric Newell. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
