Edith A. Nemcic

Edith A. Nemcic, 90, of Franklin, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Middletown, Ohio on February 17, 1922 to parents Frederick L. and Edna R. (Binkley) Barker.

Edith worked for the former Middletown Ice and Coal Company and retired in 1983 from Middletown High School where she worked as a library media assistant for 20 years. She was a member of The Community of Christ Church, Middletown, YMCA and enjoyed ceramics, sewing, walking, working in her yard and spending time with her children, grandchildren, church family, friends and neighbors.

Mrs. Nemcic is survived by her son, Dr. Steven (Gail) Nemcic, Dover, Delaware; daughter, Suzanne (Jack) Mozley, Tallahassee, Florida; brothers, Frank (Imogene) Barker, Middletown; Charles Barker, Monroe; Earl Barker, San Dimas, California; grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) Nemcic; Jennifer (Adam) Ridgeway; Alyson Wise; Andrew Mozley; great grandchildren, Olivia, Carter, Luke, and Eliza Grace.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband Steve M. Nemcic in 1993, parents and son, Daniel Nemcic; sisters, Edna Mae Calhoun and Jean Current; brothers, Frederick Barker, Carl Barker, Eddie Barker, Bobby Barker and Donald Barker.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 10:00 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Bill Helsinger and Pastor Floyd Rockwell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
