Edith Faye Oaks, 67, died at home on Wednesday, June 5, 2002 after a lengthy illness. She was born September 8, 1934 to parents Noah & Jesse (Keith) Turner.
Edith is survived by her husband Earl Oaks of Middletown; three children, Karen Roark of Franklin, Kim (Tom) Holtzclaw of Hamilton, and Edwin E. Oaks of West Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Philip, Sarah, Evan, Erin, Kyle, & Joni Faye; two brothers James (Jenny) Turner of Pennsylvania, and John (Shar) Turner of Wilmington, Ohio; seven sisters Loretta Butler of Monroe, Norma (Arnold) Brewer of Camden, Ella (Brice) Miller of Erie, Pennsylvania, Jo (John) Griffin of Middletown, Angie (Clifford) Fening of West Palm, Florida, Mary (Jack) Alverson of Charleston, Indiana, and Pam (Dennis) McIntosh of Middletown; special loved ones Scott Roark and Sandi Oaks; and many, many friends and family. She is gone to be with Jesus and will be dearly missed by everyone.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild, Kane Nelson Oaks; and two sisters Edna Turner and Jan Brewer.
Edith was a Sunday School teacher for more than 35 years. She attended church at The Church of God in Jesus, on West Alexandria Rd.. She worked with Middletown School System as a bus aide for children with special needs and was a Red Cross Volunteer at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was always there to help others.
Pastor Arnold Brewer will officiate the funeral service.
