Edna Cuddy of Garden Manor Extended Care Center died at 12:05 p.m on May 13, 2004, one day after her 90th birthday. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky on May 12, 1914 to parents Mac and Lorraine (Cornett) Summers.
Edna was a faithful member of the Church at Mayfield for more than 30 years.
Mrs. Cuddy is survived by her son, Doug (Winona) Nichols of Middletown; three daughters, Alma (Don) Murphy of Daphne, AL, Jenny (Sam) Rodriquez of Alpharetta, GA, and Brenda (James) Short of Middletown, OH; a son-in-law, Brack Collins of Middletown; sister: Virginia Campbell of Hazard, KY; numerous nephews and two very special nieces, Phyllis Parrott of Oakridge, TN, and Linda Engle of Lexington, KY.
She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, Rhonda Mosley, Lillian Barker, Ralph, John, & Greg Nance of Beaverdam, KY, Mike Nichols of Canandagua, NY, George Nichols of Germantown, OH, Lori Cole of Warsaw, NY, Vicki Burnside and Beth Riley of Middletown, OH, Joni McKenzie of Trenton, OH, Bob Nichols and Tina Nichols of Middletown, OH, Jon Nichols of Mt. Holly, NC, Cindy Ramsey of Hamilton, OH, Belinda Seeley of Midland, TX, James Blevins of Gulf Shores, AL, Dianne Murphy of Mobile, AL, Heather Junkins of Waxhaw, NC, Robby Rothenbusch of Fairfield, OH, and Adam Pergram of Middletown, OH; 27 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Hargis Nichols; her second husband, George Cuddy; two daughters, Betty Nance and Jackie Collins; two sons, John & Paul Nichols; her first grandchild, Charles Nance; her sister, Bernice Clancy; and brother, Watson E. Summers.
The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for their care and support and the wonderful staff at Garden Manor Extended Care Center, especially Bonnie Risner who cared for our mother as if she were her own.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at 12:00 Noon at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., with Pastor Rick Woodward officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, prior to the service from 10 - Noon at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
