Edward Karwacki, 96, of Middletown, died Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 5, 1919 to parents Zygmond and Hedwig (Niedzwiecka) Karwacki.
Ed was an Army Veteran serving during WWII, a 45 year member of the American Legion Post 218 where he served as Past Commander and on the Honor Guard. He was a chemist working for both Continental Oil and Formica. Ed was a member of Holy Family Parish, Knights of Columbus, the Elk's lodge 257 and a very avid sports fan including Notre Dame and the Baltimore Orioles. He was also a very talented wood worker.
Mr. Karwacki is survived by his children, Ed Karwacki Jr., Mary Ophoff, Kathy Monroe and Richard (Cindy) Karwacki and brother, Thomas Karwacki and grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, Erin, Laura & Greg; great grandchildren, Desmond, Cody, Avery & Kiera.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife Helen Karwacki in November of 2015, parents, a brother, Alvin Karwacki; sisters, Sister Dominic RSM, Veronica Barrett and Joan Dovre.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Fr. John Civille officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
