Edward L. Sheley, 86, of Middletown, died peacefully Sunday, November 22, 2009, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 8, 1923 to parents John and Maude (Points) Sheley.
Mr. Sheley was a 1941 graduate of Monroe High School and was the owner of Sun Auto Sales, Sheley Construction and Sebald Park. He was an active member of the Towne Boulevard Church of God, where he started the Sonshine class, was a board member and managed and ran the tape department at the church.
Mr. Sheley is survived by his wife, Marian (Dome) Sheley; a daughter, Susan Gabbard; three sisters, Daisy White, Bettie O'Neil and Phyllis Patterson; four granddaughters, Lori (Matthew) Johnson, Lisa (Eric) Duncan, Amy Johnson and Tara (Dustin) Lawson; and great grandchildren, Skyler, Whittlee, Mari, Lauren, Bryce, Logan, Chase, Katelyn and Collin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Diana and Sandra Sheley; and a brother, Paul Sheley.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at 11:00 am at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown with Reverend Jim Compton officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Interment will be at Springboro Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420-1885.
