Elizabeth (Betty) Krizan, 87, of Middletown, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Middletown Regional Hospital. She was born in Newport, KY, on January 30, 1918 to John and Anna (Yendek) Balaz.
Betty was a member of Holy Family Parish, and she was employed by Fenwick High School as a Cafeteria Worker for 30 years.
Betty is survived by her youngest son Lawrence and her daughter in law Sharon Krizan who she lived with and was taken care of for 17 years; a son Tony Krizan of California; one grandson Michael Krizan and his two daughters Chelsea Krizan and Sydney Krizan; granddaughter Tisha (James) Back and their two children Devon and Jacob Back; granddaughter Donna Pollen of Mason and her two children; granddaughter Diane Muraski of West Chester and her two children; two sisters Mary Kraft and Anna Cmehil; a sister in law Helen Balaz and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years Anthony Krizan; her only daughter Marianna Krizan; a brother John Balaz; a sister Catherine Steele; and her brothers in law, Carl Kraft, Steve Cmehil, and Clifford Keuthan.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Hospital in Main 2, ICU, and Main 1. They would also like to thank Hospice Staff, Freda Perkins, Myra Wentworth, and Dr. Swanson for all their kindness and guidance. The family would also like to thank Garden Manor where she was for the last two months before her hospital stay.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish – St John’s Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.). Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
