Elizabeth Lee Duell

b. February 6, 1940

Elizabeth L. "Beth" Duell, of Somerville, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2003 at Hospice of Hamilton. Beth was born February 6, 1940 to William C. and Abbie Ahern of New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy of New Orleans and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority at Louisiana State University.

She was the loving wife of Richard L. Duell and the devoted mother of Eric Duell of Cincinnati and Andrew Duell of Somerville. Beth was an active and enthusiastic member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension of Middletown. Her interests and hobbies included golf, needlepoint, cooking, reading, antiquing, interior design, and travel. She was an accomplished French and Cajun cook and an outstanding homemaker.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by Richard, her husband of 33 years, son Eric (Fabricia) and granddaughter, Julia, son Andrew, sister, Gayle Keller of Houston, Texas, an aunt, Dorothy Ahern of Harahan, Louisiana and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Beth's faith in God was a source of strendth and joy which she generously shared throughout her life. Her family and many friends will miss the sunshine of her smile, the sparkle of her eyes, her mischievous wit and the warmth and love she showed to all around her.

A Memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 2709 McGee Ave., Middletown, OH 45044 on July 2, 2003 at 10:30 am. A reception will follow at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Church of the Ascension.
