Elmer E. Weikel, 98, formerly of Middletown, died Monday, June 7, 2010, in Houston, Texas. He was born in Middletown on May 11, 1912, the son of David and Carrie Weikel.
Elmer was co-owner of the Middletown Motor, retiring in the late 1970's when he moved to Michigan. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
Mr. Weikel is survived by a daughter, Carol Hoskins of Middletown; a son, Charles (Billie) Weikel of Houston, Texas; a son-in-law, Tom Stabler; six grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Stabler, Mark Stabler, Patty (Matt) Rye, Paula (Scott) Brewer, Carla (David) Wight and Joanie (Nick) Papafote; and ten great grandchildren.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy and daughter, Coralie Stabler; brother, Homer Weikel; and sisters, Ada Mae Farris and Marie Stoutenbourough.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 10:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Jason Mather officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
