Elsie E. Nicols, 88, of Middletown, died Monday, February 21, 2005, at her residence. She was born in Oxford, Ohio on September 1, 1916 to parents Grover and Irene (Hoetz) Simpson.
Elsie was a member of First United Methodist Church for many years. She taught knitting classes and has knitted a memento for each grandchild & great grandchild. She was an avid golfer at Forest Hills and an avid bridge player.
Mrs. Nicols is survived by one daughter, Nikki (David) Thompson of Cleves, OH; three grandchildren, Bryan (Monica) Thompson, Jeremy (Collette) Thompson, and Meghan Thompson; and three great grandchildren, Brady Thompson, Zachary Thompson, and Laura Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Russ Nicols; her parents; and two brothers, Dale & Robert Simpson.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 120 South Broad St., Middletown, with Reverend David Young officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, prior to the service from 10-11 AM at church. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420-1885.
