Estelle McDonald, 94, of Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Huntington County, Indiana on August 29, 1914 to parents James Weldon and Ona (Jones) Blevins.
Estelle was the owner of five hair salons over the years, locally in Miamisburg and Dayton before moving to Florida where she had one in Archer and the one she retired from in Orlando and she was a member of the Hairdresser Association. She attended Franklin First United Methodist Church. Estelle enjoyed art, both as a painter herself and an admirer of the works of others.
Mrs. McDonald is survived by her brother, Wallace “Hop” (Rubie) Blevins; stepson, Bob McDonald; grandson, Lance McDonald; and numerous nieces, nephews & friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Allen McDonald; her parents; brother, Clarence Blevins; and sister and brother-in-law, Edith and Adam Sohn.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with Reverend Jean Carroll officiating. Inurnment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to Otterbein Homes, 580 N. State Route 741, Lebanon, OH 45036-8839.
