Esther Grace Waddell

Esther Grace Waddell, 90, of Lebanon, OH, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 28, 2017, surrounded by her family at Atrium Medical Center. She was born July 26, 1927, in Garner, Iowa, a daughter of David James and Ruth (Hutchman) Lewis.

Esther Grace graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, MO and Muskingum College in New Concord, OH in June 1949. She was married to George Robinson Waddell on August 6th, 1949. Esther Grace was employed by Belmont County National Bank in St. Clairsville, OH and Uniglobe Travel in Wheeling, W.Va. She was an active member of both the St. Clairsville and Lebanon, Ohio Rotary Clubs, and she was passionate about traveling, knitting, and especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Robinson Waddell of St. Clairsville, OH in 2015 and her sister, Evelyn (Patt) Hanisch of Madison, WI.

Surviving are her four daughters, Susan (Rick) Moore of The Woodlands, TX, Nancy (Stephen) Moore of Middletown, OH, Ann (John) Munroe of McMurray, PA, and Paula (Doug Luers) Henwood of Bellville; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at Muskingum College in New Concord, OH.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Otterbein Benevolent Fund, 580 North State Route 741, Lebanon, Ohio 45036.
