Ethel Marie South, 94, of Middletown, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 27, 2014, with the comfort of her daughter at her bedside as she went to be with our Lord in heaven. She was born in Middletown on January 1, 1920 (the first New Years' baby) to parents James A. and Margaret (Williams) Cornwell.
Ethel was one of the kindest, sweetest, and gentlest of souls. She loved her family with every bit of her heart and leaves behind so many wonderful memories for all. She taught us love, and showed us strength beyond words.
Mrs. South is survived by her loving daughter, Patricia Marie Cromwell; loving sons, LeRoy (Betsy) South, Larry (Sarah) South & Alan (Katy Jo) South; and of course her many, many beloved grandchildren & great grandchildren, that will always cherish her as she did them. She loved each and every one so very much, and because of her love, she will always be remembered as the sweetest Grandma ever, and her life will be celebrated for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, LeRoy South; infant son, Daniel Lee South; loving son, Wayne South; parents; brother, James Cornwell; Baby Sister, Elizabeth Cornwell; and one of her many pride & joys, her grandson, Keith South.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Wallace M. Marshall officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
