Evelyn Livzey Beck, 84, of Middletown, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in Middletown on February 11, 1925 to parents John and Edna (Driever) Livzey.
Evelyn received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. She married Stanley M. Beck, M.D. in 1948 and they moved to Michigan until 1988 when they returned to live in Middletown. Evelyn was involved with church and community activities throughout her life. She was known for her boundless energy, dedication to whatever she was involved with, and her confidence and candor. Most recently she was a leader in the development of a large daycare program known as the Outreach at Christ United Methodist Church in Middletown.
Evelyn is survived by her three sons, S. Garrett Beck, Richard M. Beck and James A. Beck; brother, Robert (Pat) Livzey; nephew, Larry; nieces, Rebecca Rutledge and Beth Ann; and six grandchildren, Erinn Beck, Nicol Beck, Ian Beck, Ella Beck, Ryan Beck and Sarah Beck.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and brothers, Frank & Wilbur Livzey.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11:00 am at Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Marshall Rd., Middletown with Reverend Todd Mills officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Outreach Program at Christ United Methodist Church, 700 S. Marshall Rd., Middletown, OH 45044.
