Everett E. Johnson

Everett Eugene Johnson, 87, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away on November 21, 2013. Born in McVeigh, Kentucky, he was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Johnson; brother, Warren Johnson; sisters, Wanda Coyle and Beatrice Peters; and stepson, Gerald Catchings.

He was a WW II Veteran of the European theater. Everett entered the military right after graduating high school in 1944. He served in basic infantry training in South Carolina. After basic training, he went to France to join the 66th Army Infantry Division. Later, he transferred to the intelligence group with General Douglas MacArthur's 42nd Infantry Division. His best memory was the day he was able to meet with brother, Kenneth Johnson, in Vienna, Austria right after V-J day (Victory over Japan) which effectively ended World War II in 1945.

Everett is survived by his beautiful bride of 49 years, Mary Johnson; brothers, Kenneth Johnson and Craig Johnson; as well as his step-daughter, granddaughters, great-grandsons and many close nieces and nephews.

He was a great man, a loving husband and was dedicated to his family and friends. Daily, he received much love and enjoyment spending time with his granddaughter, Marcella, and his great-grandson, Devan. They were the sparkle in his eyes and he was so proud of them.

Everett was the former proprietor of JAY SALES on Conover Drive in Franklin, Ohio for many years. He always enjoyed the positive rapport and relationships he developed with his clients and customers.

Dear Everett will be missed by family members, local community members and many life-time friends. Everett will be greatly missed by all but will live on forever in our hearts.
