Fern L. Combs

Fern Lucille Combs, 92, of Middletown, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 22, 1923 to parents Mark and Irene (Forrester) Stanley.

Fern worked as a secretary for Middletown City Schools. She was a member of Breiel Blvd. Church, loved to read & play cards, was active at the Senior Citizens Center, enjoyed line dancing & spending time with her family.

Mrs. Combs is survived by her three sons, Ed (Susan) Combs, Rodney (Carol) Combs & Mark (Kim) Combs; eight grandchildren, Rodney, Shannon, Kristy, Charlie, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Kelly & Andy; 13 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Charles E. Combs Sr. in 1994; parents; sister, Melba Brisotti; and brother, Forrest "Bud" Stanley.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Dr. Eric Newell officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 am. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 1914 First Ave., Middletown, OH 45044.
