Fran Gustin, 92, formerly of Middletown, died Thursday, January 4, 2018, at her daughter’s home in New Richmond.
Fran was born in Plainview, Texas then grew up in Southern California, where she married her first husband, Ed Markham. She had worked as a mechanic and then worked for Rohr Aircraft after World War II. Fran married her second husband, Frank, in 1962 and they lived in Middletown for many years. She worked at Airway and Square D, and enjoyed square dancing, gardening and canning. Fran was a very "Do-It-Yourself" kind of person. She and Frank then retired to Hillsboro and enjoyed fishing at Rocky Fork Lake.
Mrs. Gustin is survived by her children, Terri (Bob) Bailey, Steve (Marcia) Markham, Les (Nancy) Markham & Nancy (Louise Gartner) Gustin; three grandchildren, Teresa Shaffer, Cristy Landis & Angela Markham; and two great grandchildren, Bryn & Caden Landis. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed & Frank; parents; brothers, Dee, Joe & Glenn Jay; sisters, Alma Rees, Mabel Franklin & Gladys Jay; and granddaughter, Stephanie Markham Minge.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown with Reverend Jennifer Gustin officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
