Frances Madaffari Day

Frances Madaffari Day, 98, of Middletown, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at Atrium Medical Center where she was a patient for one day. She had resided at Liberty Retirement Community for the past eight years and formerly resided on Goldman Ave.

Frances was born in Brancaleone, Reggio Calabria, Italy and came to the United States with her parents at age two. She attended St. John's School, was a lifelong member of Holy Family Parish St. John's Church and member of the Alter Rosary Society.

Mrs. Day is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles & Linda Day; five grandchildren, Kathleen (Dan) Hurlbert, Jeffrey (Demarie) Day, Eric (Pamela) Day, Amy Ryder and Christopher Day; eleven great grandchildren; and two great great grandsons. She is also survived by her sister, Rose (Archie) Holcomb and brother, John (Barbara) Madaffari and many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and friends of the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Dale Day in 1988; her parents, John & Angeline Madaffari; sisters, Catherine Scorti Iezzoni and Jeanette Uhl; and brothers, Leo & Anthony Madaffari.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 15, 2008 from 9:00 – 10:30 AM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Monsignor Paul Metzger as celebrant. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
