Frank Gibbons, 84, died Friday at Alterra Sterling Cottage. Frank worked for Armco Steel Corp. for 11 years before joining the Ohio State Highway Patrol, where he served for 20 years, retiring in 1971. He was the first Middletown resident to retire from the Highway Patrol. After retiring he became a Butler County Animal Control Officer for several years. Frank also served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. He is a member of the VFW Post 3809 and the American Legion Post 218.
Frank is survived by two nephews, Millard "Butch" (Linda) Little and Bruce Thomas; a sister Marjorie Thomas; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Millard and Ellen (Dennis) Gibbons; a sister Mildred Little; and two nieces Beverly Suiter and Carol Herlihy.
Monsignor Paul Metzger will officiate the funeral service.
