Frederick C. “Fred” Martin, 90, of Middletown, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at home. He was born in Middletown on April 14, 1921 to parents Herbert L. and Rose (Beck) Martin.

Fred was a lifelong area farmer. He served 20 years on the Butler County Fair Board and was the founder of the Butler County Antique Machinery Club.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Kay (Felts) Martin; three sons, Bill (Carol) Martin, Jim (Sandy) Martin & John (Georgia) Martin; two daughters, Kathryn (Mark) Meyer & Tara (Shane) Wright; step-daughter, Michelle (Randy) Harville; brothers, Herbert Martin, Raymond (Dorothy) Martin & Thomas (Carolyn) Martin; sister, Mildred (John) Sheller; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Sonja (Bruce) Oliver.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice Care of Middletown for their care and support.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Middletown, 1001 Grove Street, Suite 800, Middletown, OH 45044.
