Gail Lawson

On Sunday April 8, Gail Lawson passed away at the age of 97 years. Born on October 15, 1920, Gail was the youngest of Logan and Vina Toler’s 7 children. Gail and her husband, Estil, were members of the First Baptist Church of Middletown. She was a brave, hard-working woman who accepted physical loss with dignity and grace. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who made many sacrifices throughout her life for her sons and grandchildren. She has finished the race well and is now in Heaven where she can be forever with her loving husband, Estil, and precious son, Raymond. Gail worked for Reedy’s Foods, later Dillman’s Grocery, for 18 years. She had a long history of heart trouble.

Gail leaves behind two sons Arley (Deborah) and David (Terry) Ratliff. She also leaves grandchildren Gail Meadows, Tonya (Charles) Martin, Mark (Angela) Ratliff, Deanna (Joseph) Bargdill, Travis (Stacy) Ratliff, Katelyn (Derreck) Gatliff, Whitney Ratliff, Luke Ratliff as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gail was predeceased by Estil Lawson, her loving husband of 44 years, and Raymond Ratliff, her precious son, her 3 sisters: Minnie Day, Verssie May Hobbes, Lillian Perdue and her 3 brothers: George Toler, Barry Toler, and Curtis Toler.

Funeral services will be Saturday April 14, 2008 at 10:00AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) with Rev. K. Scott Robertson officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, April 13 from 5:00-8:00PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
