Gale A. Holcomb, 77, of Liberty Township, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at her home. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 3, 1946 to parents, Earl and Ann (Albano) Holcomb, both of whom preceded her in death.
Gale's wit and intelligence were extraordinary. She excelled at Monroe High School, graduating in 1964. After receiving her BA from Indiana University, Gale immediately started her teaching career at Hamilton-Taft High School where she eventually became head of the English department. While working, she earned her Masters degree from Miami University in counseling. Following her retirement from Hamilton High School in 1998, she taught at the college level as an adjunct professor at Miami University for over 10 years. She was a well loved and respected teacher.
Gale loved cooking, entertaining, travel, theater and reading. She had an keen interest in the probability of intelligent life in the universe and enjoyed anything regarding UFOs. Gale had a curious mind and always enjoyed learning.
Gale is survived by her brother, Alan (Jean) Holcomb; nephew, Brian Holcomb; and many close friends.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Committal Service will follow at the Woodside Cemetery Chapel. Verns Sharonville Florists 513-563-1090 will handle any flower requests.
