Gary K. Shupe passed away August 23rd, 2014. Born October 3rd, 1942 in Somerset, Kentucky to Virgil and Mildred Shupe, he grew up in Yonkers, NY. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, her three children Emily Gressman, Sarah Mullenix, and Rebecca Gressman, as well as his three children Jeanette Stein, Joseph Shupe, Teresa Shupe, their mother Suellyn, and sons-in-law Paul Stein and C.J. Meffie. He is also survived by his sisters Karen, Marcia and husband Ronald, Maureen and husband James, brothers Richard, James and wife Roma, Michael and wife Lucy, sister-in-law Lisa and husband Scott Scherbauer. Predeceased by his brothers Kenneth and Steven, brother-in-law Anthony and sister-in-law Lorraine. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica, Mark, Joey, Mira, Jaxson, Jack and Katie, 16 nieces and nephews, and 12 grand nieces and nephews. He graduated from the University of Dayton in 1964 and remained in the area. He was a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual for 48 years and was a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He was a longtime resident and advocate for Middletown including being instrumental in the capital campaign for the Middletown Public Library, helping establish the Middletown Community Foundation and serving on the City Commission. He was also a long time member of Browns Run and Middletown YMCA. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at Holy Family Parish-Holy Trinity Church at 11:00 am, Fr. John Civille Celebrant. Visitation Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Abilities First 4710 Timber Trail Dr., Middletown, Oh 45044 or Big Brothers-Big Sisters 5539 Eureka Dr. Hamilton, Oh 45011.
