Geneva Beathard, 91, of Monroe, Ohio died on January 19, 2013 at the Mount Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on August 30, 1921 to parents Courtney and Anna (Lantner) Tibbs.
Geneva was one of the pioneer employees at Mount Pleasant living on the campus in the early 1950's as the first residents were moving in and the original buildings were being constructed. Geneva became a Licensed Social Worker and worked at the Otterbein Community in Lebanon for 15 years. She retired in 1987 and then became a resident herself at Mount Pleasant for the past 25 years.
Geneva was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She is survived by son David Beathard, Sr., daughter-in-law Judy, grandchildren David Beathard, Jr., Sarah, and son-in-law Steven Stojak along with great grandchildren Abigail Michele and Sydney Adams Stojak, all living in the Dallas area, as well as her brother Kenneth Tibbs.
She was preceded in death by husband Weldon Beathard, her parents, sisters Kathleen Reuthe and Irene Hatton.
Geneva was a member of and faithfully served the Monroe Presbyterian Church for 62 years.
A memorial service will be held this spring at Mount Pleasant.
