George C. Reckart

George C. Reckart, 82, of Trenton, died Friday, January 13, 2012, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Grafton, West Virginia on November 11, 1929 to parents George E. and Mildred (Moon) Reckart.

George worked at Armco Steel Corp. for 44 years, retiring as a General Foreman in 1991. He served his country in the United States Army, serving with General MacArthur's Honor Guard in Tokyo and then the Korean War earning 2 Bronze Medals and 2 combat infantry badges. He was a member of American Legion Post 218, VFW #3805, Loyal Order of Moose #501, Middletown Area Senior Citizens Center, Middletown Bowling Hall of Fame and the Butler County Softball Hall of Fame.

Mr. Reckart is survived by his wife of 60 years in June, Mary E. (Spinazola) Reckart; three sons, Michael (Natalie Cornett) Reckart, Richard (Sally) Reckart & Gary (Annette) Reckart; five grandchildren, Brad Reckart, Mike Reckart, Jeff Reckart, Kristia (Matt) Reynolds & Brett (Staci) Reckart; seven great grandchildren, Drew, Hailey, Alix, Hannah & Ryan Reckart and Kegan & Kale Reynolds; sister-in-law, Barbara Reckart; and brother-in-law, Joe (Eva) Spinazola.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Allen Reckart.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend James Anderson officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
