George E. Frye, 82, of Cincinnati (formerly of Middletown), died Thursday, July 3, 2003 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati. George was born on February 3, 1921 in Middletown, to George L. and Adaline (Teckemeyer) Frye.
George honorably served his country in WWII with the U. S. Army and then again in Korea with the U. S. Air Force. He began working for AK Steel as an Electrician and worked there for 40 plus years until retiring in 1983.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 218, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3809, and he was an avid bass fisherman.
George is survived by a daughter, Becky (Philip) LaGore of Maineville, Oh.; two sons, David A. (Diane) Frye of Boca Raton, Fla., and Thomas K.(Nora) Frye of Mason, Oh.; a brother, Clarence (Glo) Frye of Trenton; six grandchildren, Ellie Frye, Emily Praeter, Daniel, Megan, and Ashley Frye, and Brittany Becker; and two great- grandchildren, Ali Praeter and Kennedy LaGore.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Juanita (Roebuck) Frye on May 5, 1998; his parents; a brother, Dick Frye; a sister, Millie Rosa; and a grandchild, Leah Clifton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home, Inc., 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita with Father John Civille officiating. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 218. Visitation will be Monday, July 7, 2003 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
