George N. Revelos, 82, of Middletown, died Saturday, February 4, 2012, at home. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on January 10, 1930 to parents Nicholas G. and Frosine (Aridas) Revelos.
He attended American University in Washington, D.C. and Miami University. He was devoted to his church and gave generously to its support as well as to the many other community charities. George served his country in the United States Army where he served during the Korean War. When he returned from service, he opened and operated the Revelos Confectionery on Central Avenue. During his retirement he became an avid golfer and joined the Senior Golf League at Weatherwax Golf Course. He especially enjoyed the camaraderie of the seniors as well as those friends who were past customers of his store.
Mr. Revelos is survived by his brothers, Mike (Katerina Tina) Revelos, Chris (Elaine Renee) Revelos and nieces and nephews, Nicholas M. Revelos, Alcibiades (Pam) Poulias, Nicholas C. Revelos, Froso(Rick) Eccher, Mary (Adam) Knecht, Jamie (Vernon) Beatty, Francine (James) Ulrich, and Chrisanne (Jeffery) Heisey; great nieces and nephews, Athena and Charles Eccher, Christine and Christopher Heisey and Michael Knecht.
George was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Constantine "Charles" Revelos; sister, Lula Poulias.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:00 am at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2500 Grand Ave., Middletown with Father Bill Cassis officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
