George S. Lockard, 88, of Hunter, Ohio, died on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Garden Manor Retirement Village. He was born in Bethany, Kentucky on June 25, 1918 to Walter and Flossie (Morris) Lockard.
George was employed at Armco Steel for 30 years in the Blast Furnace/Coke Plant Maintenance Department. He was a member of Holy Family Parish- St. John's Church in Middletown and Lincoln Lodge #693 F.&A.M. in Middletown.
Mr. Lockard is survived by his sister, Verna (Orbin) Banks of Middletown; son-in-law, James Wagner of Middletown; grandchildren, Gina Wagner, George (Wendy) Wagner, and Kathryn (Bryan) Hoelzer; and great grandson, Brent Wagner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Belle (Graham) Lockard; daughter, Betty Jo Wagner; and his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 26, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown. Interment will take place at 2:00 PM at the family cemetery in Winchester, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Bishop Fenwick High School, 4855 State Route 122, Franklin, OH, 45005 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
