Georgianna Barber, 87, of New Castle, Indiana, died on Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at her residence. She was born on November 12, 1917.
Mrs. Barber had lived in New Castle, Indiana since 1963, where she worked at the school system as well as being a homemaker. She was a long standing member of Saint Anne´s Catholic Church and Saint Anne´s Society.
Georgianna is survived by her nine children, Geraldine (Virgil) Birch, Jacqueline Back, and Beverly (Fred) Micomonaco all of Middletown, Patricia (David) Hartwig of New Castle, IN, Pamela (Bob) Brake of New Castle, IN, Burton (Linda) Barber of Millville, IN, Michael (Barb) Barber of Muncie, IN, George (Su) Barber of New Castle, IN, and Frank Barber of New Castle, IN; twenty six grandchildren, David (Gayla) Birch of Myrtle Beach, SC, Vicki (Lee) Evans, Beth Birch, and Kathy (James) Hill, all of Middletown, Karen (Wesley) Stone of McArthur, OH, Connie (Brad) Davis of Dayton, Bill (Nikki) Back of Franklin, Burton (Leighanne) Barber of Greensboro, IN, Tonya (Sam) Prater of Syracuse, IN, Frank (Dawn) Micomonaco, Michelle (Ricky) Helton, Andrea (Terry) Rosenbaum, and Anna Micomonaco, all of Middletown, Michael (Michele) Hartwig of New Castle, IN, Leslie Wilson of New Castle, IN, Cheryl (Todd) Bergin of Plano, TX, Michael Barber of Dothan, AL, Pamela (Jared) Livingston of Muncie, IN, Adam (Amy) Barber of Kokomo, IN, Joshua (Missy) Barber, Geoffrey Barber, and Amy (Scott) Smith, all of New Castle, IN, Robert Duvall of Racine, WI, Jeremy (Niki) Barber of New Castle, IN, Sarah (Kelly) Wilson of New Castle, IN, and Tina Humphrey of Cambridge City, IN; 41 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Barber in 1983; her daughter Cheryl Ann in 1957; a son-in-law, Thomas Back in 2000; her parents; and three sisters, Viola Rodenberg, Vera Kruse, and Marie Fiestel.
Prayer service will be Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 11 AM at Wilson Schramm Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) with Father John Civille officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 4 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
