Sora, Gerard J.

Gerard J. Sora, 91, of Reading, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at Jewish Hospital. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on May 11, 1922 to parents John and Maria (Mottolla) Sora.

Mr. Sora was an auditor in the hotel industry and was a very active part of Sora's Towing and Sora's Car Care until the time of his passing. He also served in the Navy during WWII.

Mr. Sora is survived by his sons, John (Rachelle) Sora, Tom (Carmen) Sora, Jim (Jayne) Sora; sisters, Sister Jean Sora, OSF, Josephine Marconi and grandchildren, Caroline (Alex) Ahlers, Marie (Jason) Lusher, Elizabeth Sora, T.J. Sora, Trevor Sora, Gabby Sora and Matt Sora; great grandchildren, Preston John Ahlers, Danika Ahlers and Joseph James Lusher.

Gerard was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Caroline A. (Esposito) Sora; sisters, Margaret Stugmyer, Anna Presta, Geraldine Brannon, Helen Sora, Ida Marconi and Julia Gray; brothers Bernard Sora and Gerardo Sora.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 1:30 pm at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown, OH. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery. With Military Honors by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
