Gloria Elenora Blixt, 92, of West Chester, died Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at West Chester Hospital. She was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania on May 22, 1923 to parents John and Mary (Sarbo) Palmer.

Gloria was born in 1923 in New Castle, PA and graduated from New Castle High School. She was employed as a secretary in Washington, DC when in 1944 she married H. Ira Blixt from Boonville, NY. After moving to Cortland, NY, she became the secretary to the university president. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cortland where she served as church organist and choir director, Bible study leader and violinist in church and community orchestras. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Venice, FL.

Gloria is survived by her three children, Robert, Brenda & Karen; and many grandchildren & great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Ira Blixt in 2009; and her parents.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 10:30 am at West Chester Church of the Nazarene, 7951 Tylersville Rd., West Chester. Gloria will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Ira, at Dayton National Cemetery.
