H. Ford McCartney, 84, of Hellertown, Pennsylvania, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Phoebe Richland Health Care. He was born in Lewisburg, Tennessee on April 8, 1922 to parents Bayless Shane and May Millissa (Norman) McCartney. He and his wife, Mary King McCartney lived on Manchester Rd., Middletown, Ohio.
Mr. McCartney worked as a carpenter for Carpenters Local #104 in Dayton. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II with the 30th Infantry Division in France, Belgium, & Germany, and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Middletown.
Ford is survived by his stepson, Walter King of Hellertown, PA; a sister, Ruby Faulkner of Bellevue, OH; two nieces; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sarah McCartney in 1998; his parents; and stepson, Clarence J. King.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Reverend James Kinser officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
