Harold L. Back

Harold L. Back, 84, of Otterbein-Lebanon Retirement Community, formerly of Middletown, died on January 2, 2007, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Middletown, on December 15, 1922 to parents Kelley and Mabel (Bach) Back.

Mr. Back worked for Manchester Machine (Voith Sulzer) for 20 years, retiring in 1987. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was active in beekeeping, serving as president for Butler County and Warren County Beekeepers Associations. Harold enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and raising orchids.

Harold is survived by his wife, Betty Ann (Trimble) Back; a daughter, Karen (Bill) Hansford of Wilmington; son, William (Susan) Back of Elizabethtown, PA; Grandson, Garrett Back of Boston, MA; Granddaughter, Nicole (Anthony) Daddario of Doylestown, PA; Great Grandson, John Anthony Daddario; and two nieces, Dawn Denise (Mike) Anderson of Hamilton and Sonya (Larry) Banfield of Eaton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Betty Lou Cornell.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Reverend Lisa Ellison and Reverend Jim Ludwick officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.
